• Overview:
We are seeking an AWS Architect / Developer who will support our NYS client. This position is expected to serve as a technical analyst and hands-on contributor, conducting AWS migration assessments and collaborating with stakeholders to understand existing processes while estimating project complexities and timelines. This role involves building proof-of-concepts, particularly with Amazon Glue, and translating technical findings into clear documentation and recommendations for senior leadership and project teams. The ideal candidate would be a detail-oriented professional who can balance tactical execution with strategic support activities like validating technical roadmaps and identifying resource gaps under the guidance of senior architects.
Duties
• Estimate effort, challenges, and risks for development and or migration to AWS.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand current processes.
• Develop a PoC to demonstrate functionalities on Amazon Glue.
• Document assessment findings and PoC recommendations.
• Manage resources efficiently and meet project timelines.
• Provide resource recommendations for additional roles if needed.
• Assist in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Support cloud migration projects by helping validate technical architecture and roadmap alignment.
Mandatory Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services in an architectural or development capacity.
• 8+ years overall experience
• 3+ years Direct experience conducting assessments and leading or supporting large-scale cloud migrations to AWS.
• 2+ years Hands-on experience developing Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) and ETL solutions using Amazon Glue.
• Understanding of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Shell, or a similar language.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on cloud-related issues and performance optimization.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and take direction from senior architects.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Any AWS or other Cloud certifications, preference would be on AWS Certified talent.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or ELK stack.
• Familiarity with DevOps processes and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, or AWS CodePipeline.
