PlanIT Group is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in cloud engineering or system administration, including at least 1 year of hands-on work with AWS. Deploy and configure AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and more.

AWS Cloud Engineer
β’ Deploy and configure AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and more.
β’ Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation.
β’ Assist in system modernization and implementation of cloud-native architectures.
β’ Support security and compliance tasks including patching, logging, and adherence to FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 frameworks.
β’ Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity teams on deployment and automation solutions.
β’ Document system configurations, runbooks, and cloud environment standards for use in ongoing operations and audits.
β’ 3-5 years of experience in cloud engineering or system administration, including at least 1 year of hands-on work with AWS.
β’ Strong scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
β’ Strong experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins or CodePipeline.
β’ Proficiency with Linux/Windows server environment and cloud networking concepts (e.g., DNS, VPC, VPN, etc.)
β’ Familiarity/experience with artificial intelligence (AI) cloud tooling is a huge plus (e.g., Amazon BedRock, Azure OpenAI, Lex, Comprehend, etc.)
Additional Provisions:
β’ Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
β’ Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
β’ All candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
β’ Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
β’ Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
