Contract role
Roles and Responsibilities
β’ Provide primary operational support and engineering for the public cloud platform, and debug and optimize systems and automate routine tasks.
β’ Plan, design, and implementation of workload migrations from on premises to AWS Cloud.
β’ Configure, monitor and assist with the maintenance and support of the infrastructure environment within the AWS environment.
β’ Configure, tune, and maintain AWS services like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Systems Manager, Network Firewall, WAF, Security Group, Tagging, Network ACLβs and Routing Tables.
β’ Setup and maintain Gateway Load Balancer and Transit Gateway.
β’ Setup and maintain VPCβs in different Availability Zones, including WFCS and SQL installations and HAG.
β’ Setup and maintain backup solutions using AWS native services. This includes EC2 instances, FSX Servers, various S3 storage types, AMI, and Infrastructure as Code scripts using CDK in Typescript.
β’ Configure, automate, and monitor AWS CloudWatch alarms and notifications for system(s) health checks.
β’ Design, develop and maintain Executive Level dashboards for system(s) utilization, health, and cost.
β’ Setup and maintain security using tools like AWS Guard, AWS OU, IAM, CrowdStrike, and Tenable.
β’ Environment hardening to meet compliance requirements and configuration rules for Pub 1075, PII, and NIST frameworks.
β’ Collaborate with other IT resources and vendors to resolve application and/or infrastructure related issues to the existing AWS environment.
β’ Maintain technical documentation of the existing AWS environment related to storage, backups, & patching.
β’ Participate in the selection of new technologies while maintaining departmental information technology and security standards.
β’ Effectively communicate with Management, co-workers, and business partners.
β’ Perform other duties as assigned.
