About the Role:
We’re seeking AWS FinOps / Cloud Engineers to join our team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering and financial operations, ideal for engineers who are passionate about infrastructure-as-code, automation, and cloud cost optimization. You’ll leverage AWS-native tools and FinOps principles to design, monitor, and optimize scalable infrastructure while helping teams manage costs effectively.
As part of this team, you’ll work with Finance, Product, and DevOps stakeholders to ensure cloud resources are optimized, tagged, and monitored, while automating workflows and maintaining high-quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools.
• Automate infrastructure tasks, cost reporting, and operational workflows using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions for automation and event-driven processes.
• Monitor cloud budgets and usage trends using AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, and Savings Plans.
• Apply FinOps principles to optimize AWS spend and resource utilization.
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging using Amazon CloudWatch.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and tagging policies across cloud resources.
• Participate in architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cost audits.
• Contribute to runbooks, documentation, and internal tooling to support cloud operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technical insights into actionable recommendations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 3–5+ years as an AWS or DevOps Engineer in a cloud-native environment.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform for AWS provisioning and infrastructure lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for scripting and automation.
• Experience with AWS Lambda (deployment, triggers, monitoring).
• Strong understanding of FinOps principles, cloud cost management, and tagging strategies.
• Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, and Savings Plans for cost tracking.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch, including dashboards, custom metrics, and alarms.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, GitLab, or similar version control systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-team initiatives.
Nice to Have:
• AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
• Prior experience contributing to FinOps initiatives at scale.
• Familiarity with governance tools like AWS Config or Control Tower.
