Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join our growing data and cloud engineering practice. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Data Lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines. This role demands strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, Spark/Scala, and experience working with Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and modern Data Warehousing tools in an enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT frameworks using ADF, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse to support large-scale data movement, transformation, and integration. • Implement and optimize data lake architectures and structured/unstructured data ingestion strategies using Azure Data Lake Gen2 and Parquet/Delta Lake. • Develop and maintain big data processing pipelines using PySpark, Scala, and Apache Spark in Azure Databricks environments. • Collaborate with BI developers, data scientists, and business analysts to integrate data models and pipelines with Snowflake, SQL DWH, and Power BI. • Automate deployment workflows using Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD and configuration management across data environments. • Build real-time and batch data ingestion processes that support advanced analytics and reporting initiatives. • Enable governance, lineage, and monitoring using tools like Microsoft Purview, Fabric, or other metadata management solutions. • Maintain high-performance, secure, and cost-effective data architecture aligned with industry best practices and Azure Well-Architected Framework. • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives in Agile/Scrum delivery environments. Preferred Qualifications • Azure Certifications such as: • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate • DP-203 or DP-500 (Data Engineering or Fabric-specific exams) • Knowledge of Power BI, Microsoft Purview, and data observability tools. • Experience integrating real-time streaming data (Kafka, Event Hubs, etc.) is a plus.
