Job Title: Azure Infrastructure DevOps Engineer
Remote Contract
Key Responsibilities:
CI/CD Pipeline Development & Governance:
β’ Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and validation.
β’ Integrate quality gates, approvals, and security scans into pipelines to enforce policy compliance, naming conventions, tagging standards, and change control.
β’ Create pipeline templates for reusable and consistent deployment patterns across teams.
β’ Implement pipeline gates that validate:
β’ Azure Policy compliance
β’ Role-based access control (RBAC) checks
β’ Cost estimation and tagging enforcement
β’ Infrastructure test results (e.g., integration/validation tests)
Infrastructure as Code & Automation:
β’ Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates in version-controlled repositories.
β’ Automate provisioning of infrastructure components including virtual networks, resource groups, VNets, key vaults, monitoring, and security components.
β’ Implement idempotent deployment logic and handle drift detection.
Azure Governance & Policy Enforcement:
β’ Define and apply Azure Policies, Initiatives, and Blueprints to enforce cloud governance, security controls, and regulatory compliance.
β’ Integrate policy validation steps into DevOps pipelines to prevent non-compliant resource deployment.
β’ Monitor and report on compliance via Azure Policy Insights and integrate with dashboards.
Collaboration & Support:
β’ Partner with platform, security, and application teams to deliver compliant infrastructure platforms and Landing Zones.
β’ Provide DevOps guidance to infrastructure and application teams for adopting CI/CD and GitOps best practices.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues, infrastructure failures, and deployment inconsistencies.
Qualifications:
β’ Proven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and IaC principles.
β’ Deep understanding of Azure infrastructure services, RBAC, and networking.
β’ Experience implementing pipeline gates, automated policy validation, and compliance checks.
β’ Familiarity with cloud governance models, including Azure Policy, management groups, and subscription-level controls.
β’ Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
β’ Azure certifications such as AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert), AZ-104, or AZ-305 are a plus.
