Bigcommerce Developer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced BigCommerce Developer to design, develop, customize, and support scalable eCommerce solutions on the BigCommerce platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in BigCommerce storefront development, API integrations, checkout customization, and end-to-end eCommerce implementation. The candidate should be comfortable working with cross-functional teams including UI/UX, product owners, QA, and backend engineering teams in Agile environments. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain BigCommerce storefronts and custom themes Customize BigCommerce Stencil themes and optimize frontend performance Develop and integrate APIs, third-party applications, and payment gateways Implement custom checkout, cart, catalog, and product functionalities Work on BigCommerce headless commerce architecture when required Integrate BigCommerce with ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, and marketing platforms Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks Optimize website performance, SEO, responsiveness, and user experience Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend developers for feature implementation Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and release activities Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of eCommerce solutions Support migration activities from legacy eCommerce platforms to BigCommerce Required Skills: 3+ years of experience working with BigCommerce platform Strong expertise in BigCommerce Stencil framework Experience with BigCommerce APIs and webhooks Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript Experience with React.js, Next.js, or headless commerce architecture Hands-on experience with REST APIs and JSON Experience integrating payment gateways, shipping providers, and tax solutions Knowledge of GraphQL APIs is preferred Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills Preferred Skills: Experience with headless BigCommerce implementations Experience with ERP/CRM integrations (SAP, Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.) Knowledge of SEO and eCommerce best practices Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Familiarity with GA4, GTM, or analytics integrations Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field BigCommerce certifications preferred Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have: Experience with Shopify, Magento, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud Experience in retail, eCommerce, or digital commerce domains • Experience with performance optimization and scalability initiatives
