100% REMOTE:
Pay: $43-48/hr
REQUIRED:
β’ Masters with 2 years experience or Bachelors w/ 3 - 5 years expereince - recent PhD okay
β’ This position is focused on the development of a front-end tool in R-Shiny.
β’ IT position but the manager is saying that they MUST have some RNA Sequencing data experience.
β’ Bioinformatics focused people that do not have front end development will not be considered.
β’ Day to Day: testing / checking - communicating with teams - programming / app development
β’ Abiliry to develop OMICS data analysis pipeline and tool development
β’ Must have R Shiny and a few years of programming experience
β’ Must have some front-end development experience
β’ Must have an understanding of 'biology' - high plus for RNA Sequencing (bulk preferred)
β’ Must have command line Unix experience (not just front end)
β’ Experience in academic setting - research - industry all created equal - however; the more experience in RNA Sequencing (bulk preferred) in combination with front end programming experience w/ R Shiny the better
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, build, document, and maintain custom state of the art RNAseq and other OMICs data-analysis pipelines and front-end tools for a large user base.
β’ Detect and resolve software bugs and performance issues. Provide on-demand technical support for applications.
β’ Educate and train colleagues in usage of these tools.
β’ Containerize on-premises and cloud systems, execute extensive test strategies, including unit and integration tests, to ensure software quality.
β’ Advanced knowledge in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics such as R and python.
β’ Extensive experience in Front-End/tool development such as R-Shiny or React like frameworks.
β’ Experience working with cloud (AWS), high-performance computing environments (UNIX) and version control systems like Git.
β’ Proficiency in statistical analysis methods such as linear regression and multivariate analysis. Expertise in OMICS data analysis, especially RNAseq, including experiment design, data processing, and result interpretation using bioinformatics tools is a plus
β’ Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical industry or related field is a plus.
β’ Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
β’ Good communication skills, team-oriented, with focus on achieving team goals
