ALTA IT is hiring a Business Analyst (BA) who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, Agile Scrum environment for health insurance client. The BA will work closely with the Product Owner and cross-functional teams to break down complex business concepts into precise, actionable user stories. This role requires a strong understanding of business processes, the ability to analyze and translate business requirements into functional specifications, and ownership over end-to-end analyst duties including documentation, story creation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
The ideal candidate will bring a high level of accountability, follow-through, and proactiveness to ensure timely and accurate delivery of business needs.Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and Product Owners to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional user stories in JIRA.
• Create concise, precise, and testable user stories and acceptance criteria for Agile development teams.
• Decompose larger initiatives or epics into smaller, manageable stories for 2-week sprints.
• Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring that solutions meet user needs and business objectives.
• Quickly ramp up on existing projects and take ownership of business analysis duties with minimal oversight.
• Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT): create test plans, validate functionality, and coordinate issue resolution.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues in systems, processes, and functionality.
• Document requirements, process flows, and system interactions in a clear and organized format.
• Track and manage open issues, risks, and dependencies related to business requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Must-Have Experience:
• 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in large, complex environments.
• Strong experience working in Agile Scrum teams and collaborating directly with Product Owners.
• Proficient in creating and managing user stories in JIRA.
• Demonstrated ability to break down complex business concepts into simple, implementable requirements.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on commitments.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in user acceptance testing (UAT) – planning, documentation, and execution.
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with CRM or customer service applications.
• Experience working with customer service representatives (CSRs) and understanding their operational needs.
• Background in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, etc.) is a plus.
• Exposure to tools like Confluence, Visio, or similar documentation platforms.
Soft Skills & Behavioral Expectations:
• Proactive, accountable, and able to drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive solutions forward.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
