Business Analyst

Insight Global is seeking a Business Analyst for a large utility client in Houston, Texas to support its Smart Metering Program, a multi-state initiative deploying advanced gas metering infrastructure as part of a 7–10-year roadmap. This role involves gathering and analyzing deployment requirements, documenting processes, and communicating insights to cross-functional teams and program management. The Business Analyst will lead meetings, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure solutions meet business needs while adhering to change management practices. Key responsibilities include developing integration and acceptance test plans, validating meter data across IT systems, mapping data to SAP, and monitoring project milestones. The position also focuses on optimizing business processes, guiding standardization and IT testing best practices, and maintaining metering procedures to support long-term program success. Requirements: • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or business. • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst. • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely through ambiguity to determine acceptable solutions. • Excellent documentation skills including business process flows, application architecture diagrams, and data mapping. • Experience creating detailed reports and presentations. • A track record of following through on commitments. • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. • A history of supporting successful IT projects. • Experience with end-user acceptance testing with vendor supported applications. • Knowledge of agile project development. • Experience with SAP, Business Objects, middleware, and client server applications. • SQL and Oracle database queries required. • IT Business Analyst Certification This role is a 6 month contract with high possibility of extending over multiple years depending on performance. The role is also offering a hourly pay range of $65.00 - $100.00 per hour depending on experience.
