Job Title: Business Analyst Location:Trenton, NJ Employment Type: Contract Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Analyst to support critical IT modernization efforts at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC). This part-time consulting role involves defining business and technical needs, conducting research, analyzing systems, and making recommendations to improve services and reduce in-person interactions. The position is primarily remote but requires on-site presence for major server issues or replacements. Key Responsibilities • Consult with stakeholders to define business needs and technical problems • Conduct studies, surveys, and research to gather relevant data • Analyze complex data to develop business and technology recommendations • Support planning, design, and implementation of Bull Escala HVX/AIX system upgrades • Provide documentation in SharePoint to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance • Deliver effective project reporting to both internal and external stakeholders • Assist with replacing 60 Escala servers across MVC locations as part of the FY25 initiative • Ensure alignment with MVC architectural standards and implementation timelines • Collaborate with mid and senior management to meet project goals and citizen service expectations • Provide hands-on support for system administration and testing Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field • 10+ years of systems administration experience • 5+ years of experience with Bull Escala HVX/AIX systems • 5+ years of experience with SharePoint for documentation and collaboration • Strong reporting skills with 10+ years of experience communicating to stakeholders • Extensive experience managing and maintaining server infrastructure • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Preferred Qualifications • Experience working on government or public sector modernization projects • Background as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in software or infrastructure environments • Strong familiarity with enterprise architecture standards and IT modernization planning • Knowledge of hybrid dual-operating system environments • Experience balancing competing priorities and managing tight deadlines in large organizations Skills: infrastructure,data,communication,business analysis,problem-solving,research,reporting,project management,data analysis,systems administration,project,bull escala hvx/aix,it,documentation,sharepoint
