Role description
Position Description Looking for a highly motivated, proactive, analytical person with Electronic Health Record and Revenue Cycle Financial experience(patient accounting, billing, claims). The EHR Analyst fulfills a set of general responsibilities during different project phases. The EHR Analyst will work closely with functional and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Project Team WorkGroups. Duties β€’ Act as the primary VDH EHR resource dedicated to data collection and system design β€’ Actively participate in Site visits where design decisions are made and planned for implementation β€’ Coordinate solution-specific activities with the non-traveling VDH team while ensuring best design for VDH is implemented β€’ Act as liaison for VDH and Vendor activities while on-site and while homework deliverables are completed outside of the Site visits β€’ Implement solution design decisions, assuming responsibility for solution specific implementation β€’ Assist with policy and procedure development for designated department/function responsibilities β€’ Work with the departmental/functional team to develop and execute unit and system test scripts β€’ Develop procedures for system troubleshooting and training β€’ Follow requirement elicitation strategies to gather requirements from business stakeholders β€’ Represent requirements in process flow and other suitable pictorial diagrams as needed β€’ Facilitate development of integrated workflow β€’ Ensure user journey is clearly understood, replicated with newer processes and suggest enhancements when applicable β€’ Communicates Risk implications to Risk/Project Manager β€’ Assist with system validation and ensure Requirements are met β€’ Participates an Integration Testing and go-live team member β€’ Provide application systems assistance to the departmental/functional team, particularly in technology and system-related areas β€’ Investigate and help resolve application problems β€’ Support End User Training β€’ Provide ongoing post go-live solution support for the Health Districts β€’ Develop a basic knowledge of Discern Explorer, command languages, system operations and interface usage β€’ Coordinate and participate in the auditing of current database in preparation for a history upload β€’ Facilitate project conference calls, status meetings, planning sessions, and provide for meeting notes β€’ Support the Project manager in review of Project initiation steps such as RFPs, SOW, managing Agile tools, working closely with vendor team when applicable β€’ Utilizing system-based project management applications, collaboration applications, and MS Office applications β€’ Visio, SharePoint, Teams, etc. Skills& Experience β€’ 5+years as an Analyst / performing Analyst role β€’ 3+years in Healthcare health IT, clinical, research, financial β€’ 3 β€’ years' experience working with EHR applications β€’ Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills β€’ Effective communication skills and collaborative work style β€’ Background in healthcare information systems, data analysis, and familiarity with EHR implementation or optimization β€’ Proficiency in programming languages(SQL, Java, and CCL. Cerner Command Language-nice to have), database management, and software development life cycles β€’ Experience as analyst for EHR system, Cerner Millennium / Oracle Health EHR preferred β€’ Knowledge of clinically driven revenue cycle β€’ Knowledge of relational databases (SQL), system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, quality assurance techniques, and change management procedures β€’ Able to manage, coordinate, and prioritize multiple activities concurrently with limited supervision and to adjust efficiently and effectively to changing priorities. β€’ Knowledge and experience using multiple project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile β€’ Bachelor's degree in Healthcare/Informatics, Information Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
