Sector: Public Sector (previous government experience preferred)
We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) to support the delivery of digital and data-driven solutions. This role requires strong investigative skills to explore existing systems, processes, and data flows, and to uncover what is truly needed to deliver business value. The BA will act as a bridge between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that business needs are understood, clarified, and translated into actionable requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct investigative analysis into current systems, processes, and data pipelines to understand the “as-is” state.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and hidden dependencies to build a clear picture of the current environment.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify and validate what needs to be done, ensuring alignment to business priorities.
• Elicit, analyze, and document requirements in the form of user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize backlogs and refine requirements for delivery.
• Translate findings into structured documentation to support decision-making, delivery, and governance.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, governance, and security standards (e.g., GDPR, DPIA, RBAC).
• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and confirm that delivered features meet business needs.
• Continuously seek opportunities to simplify, clarify, and improve processes based on investigative findings.
Key Skills & Experience
• Strong investigative and analytical skills – able to dig into existing systems and processes to discover gaps.
• Experience documenting as-is and to-be processes, data flows, and dependencies.
• Proven background in Agile business analysis, writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Prior experience working in the public sector digital domain is highly desirable.
• Experience in data-related projects, including collaboration with data engineering and analytics teams
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
• Excellent communication skills – able to distil complex findings into clear insights.
