Role description
Overview Seeking a Business Analyst / Data Analyst with a strong foundation in data governance, analytics, and product ownership. The ideal candidate will combine analytical rigor with business insight-identifying gaps, documenting user stories, ensuring data quality, and supporting end-to-end product delivery. This role requires someone who can manage both business and technical requirements. Compensation: $40-$50/hour Remote - MUST SIT EAST COAST 24 month contract β€’ CAN'T provide sponsorship β€’ NO C2C Responsibilities β€’ Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, uncover process gaps, and translate requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation. β€’ Support data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality, lineage, and compliance across systems by implementing standards, validation checks, and stewardship practices. β€’ Analyze large, complex data sets to identify anomalies, trends, and root causes; recommend solutions that align with business goals. β€’ Develop, maintain, and optimize Python + SQL ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and validate structured/unstructured data across multiple sources. β€’ Design and automate dashboards and reports in Power BI and other BI tools to deliver actionable insights, track KPIs, and enable data-driven decision-making. β€’ Partner with product owners to prioritize backlog items, manage dependencies, and align product roadmaps with business objectives. β€’ Facilitate workshops, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies to drive collaboration and ensure timely delivery of business-critical solutions. β€’ Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve operational outcomes. Qualifications β€’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field (Master's preferred). β€’ 5-7 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or related roles. β€’ Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and ETL pipeline development. β€’ Hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI (plus experience with other BI/reporting tools such as Sisense, SAP, or Alteryx). β€’ Experience with data governance practices including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and compliance frameworks. β€’ Proficiency with AWS (S3, Lambda, Athena) and data automation workflows. β€’ Demonstrated experience documenting BRDs, user stories, and technical workflows in Agile/SAFe environments. β€’ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams. Nice-to-Have β€’ Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.). β€’ Experience with visualization and collaboration tools (Figma, JIRA, Confluence). β€’ Exposure to telecom, healthcare, or enterprise software domains.
