Cloud Platform Engineer
Location : Dallas, Texas / Charllotte, NC ## Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
β’ Work with Tanzu Application Service (TAS) and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
β’ Resolve coding, testing, and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature.
β’ Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and manage to mitigate risk.
β’ Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively.
β’ Make decisions in developing standards and company-wide best practices for engineering and large-scale technology solutions.
β’ Design, optimize, and document engineering aspects of the cloud platform.
β’ Understand industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
β’ Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost.
β’ Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
β’ Work in a globally distributed team to provide innovative and robust cloud-centric solutions.
β’ Maintain system documentation and provide training and support to team on TAS, PCF, OpenShift best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years working with Tanzu Application Service (TAS) and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
β’ 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
β’ 5+ years working with OpenShift/Kubernetes and have a proven track record of building complex infrastructure programmatically through automation and scripting.
β’ 5+ years of experience in building, deploying, securing, and managing OpenShift or Kubernetes across various environments.
β’ 5+ years of experience with Linux operating systems and container orchestration.
β’ 3+ years of experience with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
β’ 3+ years of experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, including tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Tekton.
β’ 3+ years of experience with monitoring, logging, observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, AppD, New Relic, Elastic, Open Telemetry).
β’ 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure setups.
β’ 3+ years driving architectural discussions and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for high visibility cloud initiatives to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, cost effectiveness, and high availability in the private cloud space.
β’ 3+ years of experience with cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, trends, and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings.
Desired Qualifications:
β’ Experience working with cloud security management or governance tools.
β’ Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280) or similar certification.
β’ Knowledge of service mesh, load balancers, DDI technologies.
β’ Knowledge of networking, security, and storage concepts as they relate to containerized environments.
β’ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences.
β’ Ability to deliver and engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership and accountability in a matrix structure.
β’ Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
β’ Experienced in implementing risk and control requirements for cloud infrastructure.
