Cloud Engineer

Job Requirement Overview: Position: DevOps Cloud Engineer Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid) Duration: Contract As a Cloud Engineer you will work in a highly collaborative, multi-functional team committed to improving the value of our technology solutions & supporting the Jenkins Core platform for the enterprise. We explore new technologies and a wide variety of cloud native platforms in an open and transparent way. We are passionate about opensource contribution while embracing a continuous learning, sharing our expertise and knowledge with the wider engineering community. Skills: • Passionate about working in a DevOps environment • Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins • Strong understanding and practical experience with implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) preferably using Terraform or an equivalent tool. • Experienced with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Demonstrated hands-on experience with two or more languages – Python, Java, Groovy etc. • Strong Unix/Linux knowledge with working experience in installing, configuring applications and resolving issues in a public cloud environment like AWS and/or Azure • Experience installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining application software and system management tools. • Hands-on experience configuring container and serverless applications • Strong desire to learn and experiment with new technologies based on cloud trends • Strong communication and influencing skills. • Experience working in globally distributed teams. Must Have: • CI/CD Pipelines Experience ideally within Jenkins • Infrastructure as Code Experience in Terraform or related tool. • Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes • Any form of Public Cloud is acceptable, but AWS will be preferred.
