Cloud Engineering Consultant (Outside IR35) Day Rate: Approx. £300 per day (Outside IR35) Engagement Type: Statement of Work / Project-Based Contract Duration: 4 months initially Location: Fully Remote Engagement Overview We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering Consultant to deliver project-based outcomes that support the organisation’s cloud transformation strategy. The engagement focuses on designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure across AWS and Azure, while providing handover materials and frameworks to enable ongoing management by internal teams. Project Deliverables • Design, deploy, and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure to meet business needs. • Lead cloud migration and hybrid environment management, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. • Provide support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for both legacy and cloud-native systems. • Develop and integrate custom software solutions to bridge platforms, enhance automation, and meet business-specific requirements. • Ensure secure, compliant, and cost-effective operations across all cloud environments. • Deliver comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer covering infrastructure, code, procedures, and support guidelines. Required Expertise • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure, including architecture design, deployment, and execution. • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, particularly in converting CloudFormation templates to alternative solutions. • Capability to maintain legacy AWS environments while designing and delivering scalable, secure, and efficient Azure solutions. • Skilled in producing clear technical documentation and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure knowledge transfer and operational alignment. Engagement Terms • The engagement is Outside IR35, based on the nature of the services provided, control, substitution rights (where appropriate), and absence of mutuality of obligation. • Work is to be conducted independently, without line management responsibilities or integration into client teams beyond essential collaboration. • The consultant is responsible for their own working methods, equipment, and schedule, within the agreed project milestones and deadlines.
