Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the communications and entertainment industry, is seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst to join their growing team in providing hands-on Data & Analytics support for a brand new Cloud FinOps group. This team provides visibility into cloud cost drivers to the Engineering, Finance, and Executive teamsβgiving them enough information to make appropriate trade-offs between costs and business needs.
Day-to-Day:
β’ Automate cost reporting, alerting and visualization for various cloud cost metrics.
β’ Identify and alert on cloud cost anomalies in a timely fashion.
β’ Think independently to solve difficult data problems.
β’ Collate, analyze, and prioritize cloud optimization recommendations and calculate potential savings.
β’ Provide expert knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies (e.g. rightsizing, power scheduling, etc.).
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional product and finance teams to understand business needs and for cost optimization to develop key metrics and reporting.
Previous experience:
β’ 3+ years of experience in Cloud &/or Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or related fields.
β’ Experience with building SQL Queries and cleaning/validating data.
β’ Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools - AWS Quicksight.
β’ Strong understanding of financial systems and processes in a cloud-based environment
β’ Experience in how to organize and analyze data, apply formulas, and get different slices of data, such as price per product/department.
β’ Ability to convey finance terms to engineering teams and vice versa.
β’ Experience with cloud-based financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting tools.
