Job Description:
We're hiring a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to take ownership of securing and optimizing our hybrid infrastructure. This role is deeply embedded in the cloud ecosystemβspecifically AWS and Azureβwith minimal but essential interaction with on-prem infrastructure (around 5%). The successful candidate will play a central part in reinforcing the security of our systems across critical initiatives in both Business Services and Government verticals.
Youβll be tasked with crafting dependable, repeatable cloud infrastructure using IaC tools and modern DevOps pipelines. Your day-to-day will include re-architecting container environments, executing GitHub transitions, and integrating tools like Hashicorp Vault to enable secure credential handling.
What Youβll Do
β’ Build cloud-native, resilient systems using Infrastructure as Code approaches
β’ Support vital business applications that generate high revenue and require peak uptime
β’ Dive into performance issues across environments and solve them with precision
β’ Be the bridge between Dev, QA, and Operations to deliver seamless solutions
β’ Document both system architecture and workflows for technical and non-technical audiences
β’ Lead core improvement projects, such as migrating GitHub repositories and rebuilding containers with updated security measures
β’ Partner with engineering teams to move legacy systems into aligned infrastructure standards
What Weβre Looking For
β’ Hands-on experience in AWS and/or Azure environments is non-negotiable
β’ Deep understanding of cloud security controls (e.g., network security groups, hardened S3 buckets, firewalls)
β’ Strong design skills around cloud-native architecture, especially with EKS on AWS and AKS on Azure
β’ Solid background in Docker and managing container lifecycles
β’ Proficiency in Terraform (lean usage focused on scalability and efficiency)
β’ Well-versed in building CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions
β’ Capable of writing and debugging scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
β’ Experience with version control systems like Git and SVN
β’ Familiarity with config management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is advantageous
β’ Comfortable being the go-to technical expert for SRE-related concerns
β’ Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential
β’ A degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
Great If You Also Have
β’ Experience shifting workloads from on-premises systems into cloud infrastructure
β’ Understanding of Blue-Green deployment patterns
β’ Additional exposure to container management in real-world production environments
β’ Knowledge of logging tools like Splunk, Elastic Stack, or Greylog
β’ Familiarity with relational databases, especially MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server
β’ Awareness of change control best practices and formal processes
β’ Direct experience integrating Hashicorp Vault or similar secret management platforms
β’ Comfort writing code in at least one modern programming language
