Cloud/DevOps Engineer

We are looking, on behalf of our client, for an experienced Cloud/DevOps Engineer on a 6-month contract to design, secure, and operate cloud infrastructure supporting highly scalable and resilient services. You will collaborate closely with product and data teams to deliver a robust platform, with a strong emphasis on automation, observability, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities • Architect, maintain, and evolve GCP infrastructure, with a focus on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters. • Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring compliance and reproducibility. • Implement and maintain GitOps practices with ArgoCD for automated deployments. • Define, track, and improve Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets. • Enhance observability (logging, metrics, tracing) using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry. • Improve CI/CD pipelines for backend/frontend applications (Laravel, NestJS) to support faster and safer releases. • Implement security best practices, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for critical services. • Support reliability of data pipelines and dashboards (Apache Superset, BigQuery, PostgreSQL). • Partner with developers to foster a DevOps culture, driving automation, self-service, and continuous improvement. Tech Stack • Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), optionally AWS • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform • Orchestration: Kubernetes (GKE) • GitOps/CD: ArgoCD, Bitbucket Pipelines • Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry • Data & Visualization: Superset, PostgreSQL, BigQuery Profile • 3+ years of experience in Cloud/DevOps/SRE roles with hands-on GKE expertise. • Strong skills in Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitOps (ArgoCD). • Experience with SLO/SLI-driven monitoring and alerting. • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and release automation. • Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization. • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills. • Bonus: Experience with SaaS platforms, sensitive data, or high-availability architectures.
