Role description
Join us as a Data Modeller
· Working closely with our business analysts and data management specialists, you’ll translate data requirements into structured representations of data using data modelling tools
· You’ll participate in data design review workshops, and you’ll have ownership of data design and data models across different areas
· This is an opportunity to develop your analytical skills in an engaging role while helping us to avoid data risk
What you'll do
As a Data Modeller, you’ll be responsible for defining, maintaining, and improving data models. You’ll support data architects with solutions, and you’ll contribute to data quality investigations. You’ll also support subject matter experts and data owners in managing content.
As well as this you’ll:
· Collaborate with business analysts and data management specialists to translate data requirements to successfully build a 360 view of a customer
· Great at creating succinct models that summarise complex detailed relationships
· Take ownership for data modelling and data contract creation
· Adopt the enterprise data model and standards
· Identify and mitigate potential data risks
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for a someone with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills and experience in data modelling or data architecture. Along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, you’ll have knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling. You’ll also have knowledge of at least one UML or data modelling tool such as ErWin, SparxEA, or ER Studio.
Furthermore, you’ll demonstrate:
· An understanding of data modelling methodologies including 3NF, Dimensional, Data Vault, Key-Value pair, and NoSQL Document Store
· An understanding of one or more industry models such as IFW, Teradata, FIBO, or BIAN
· Knowledge of data product management, data management, metadata management, data lineage management, and data definitions
· Proficiency when designing with concepts and regulations such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, PII
· A basic understanding of knowledge and/or property graphs, taxonomies and ontologies (OWL, SHACL)
