Role description
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, develop, and maintain advanced Cognos BI reports, models, and dashboards using Framework Manager and Data Modules.
• Lead the configuration, security, administration, and architecture of Cognos BI (version 11.1.7 or higher).
• Develop and manage data models and ETL data structures for multi-dimensional reporting.
• Write, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL queries; create stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Deliver dashboards and analytics using Cognos, Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and other BI tools.
• Conduct comprehensive testing of reports, including functional, regression, integration, and data validation testing.
• Support API integrations and provide reporting solutions in both agile and waterfall development environments.
• Provide technical support for solutions like Unisys Agile Business Suite, Salesforce, Power Automate, Tableau, and Talend.
• Train end users and IT staff in Cognos reporting, dashboard creation, and module configuration.
• Develop user manuals, toolkits, SOPs, and training documentation for BI tools.
• Create and maintain reports in Crystal Reports, Tableau, Talend, or similar platforms.
Required Experience:
• 6+ years of experience in Cognos report development and BI modeling.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cognos 11.1.7+ in full BI lifecycle implementation.
• 7+ years of experience with database technologies: Oracle, SQL Server (SSRS, SSIS), PL/SQL.
• Strong proficiency in data analytics, visualization tools, and API integration.
• Experience in functional testing and business process validation for reporting solutions.
• Experience with training delivery and technical documentation.
Certifications (Preferred/Required):
• PMP Certification (Required)
• Any of the following (with verifiable certification numbers):
• IBM Cognos BI Certification
• Microsoft Power BI Certification
• Microsoft SQL Server/Data Visualization/Database Fundamentals Certification
• CRM/Cloud Reporting Certifications (e.g., MS Dynamics, Salesforce, Tableau)
