Role description
Also have conversational designer in a GCP environment backfill role this week can interview • Design & Development: Build and maintain conversational AI solutions using DialogflowES/CX, including designing conversational flows, intents, entities, and fulfillment services. • Integration: Develop middleware, backend services, and APIs (often with Python) to integrate bots with enterprise systems and third-party applications. • Optimization: Improve bot performance by implementing NLP best practices, managing context, handling errors, and continuously tuning NLU (Natural Language Understanding). • Generative AI: Configure and manage generative AI components, such as Playbooks and Data Stores for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Conversational Design (CD) Developer Location: 100% Remote Engagement Type: Project-based Overview TEKsystems Global Services is partnering with Altice/Optimum to deliver next‑generation conversational experiences across chat and voice channels. We are seeking a Conversational Design (CD) Developer with demonstrated experience designing intuitive, human‑centered interaction flows for AI‑augmented and deterministic bot solutions. This role will partner closely with design, engineering, and product teams to shape dialog flows, build reusable frameworks, and ensure high‑quality customer experiences across all conversational surfaces. Key Responsibilities Conversation & Interaction Design • Develop sample dialogs, flow diagrams, prototypes, and journey maps to communicate conversational interactions across chat and voice. • Create comprehensive design specifications for chat interfaces and Voice User Interfaces (VUI). • Evaluate usability, tone, error handling, and audio consistency in existing conversational flows and recommend improvements. Frameworks, Guidelines & Best Practices • Create conversational design guidelines, prompt‑writing resources, and reusable artifacts that support cross‑team consistency. • Document standards, processes, and best practices for both deterministic and AI‑augmented conversational systems. Cross-functional Collaboration • Collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and AI teams across the project lifecycle. • Support integration of conversational flows with backend systems for intent fulfillment and service enablement. • Apply systems‑thinking approaches to ensure conversational experiences align with user mental models and are consistent across platforms. Required Skills & Experience Education & Foundational Knowledge • Bachelor’s degree in Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Linguistics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. • Understanding of architecture and technical features involved in deterministic and AI‑augmented chat/voice bot development. Core Technical Expertise • Demonstrated experience designing speech‑enabled conversational flows across multiple device types and contexts. • Strong knowledge of speech and language technologies including: • Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) • Natural Language Understanding (NLU) • Text‑to‑Speech (TTS) • Hands‑on experience with Lucidchart for developing flow diagrams, architectures, and process maps (required). Conversation Science & Linguistics • Understanding of conversational principles, including the Cooperative Principle, turn‑taking, cognitive load, pragmatics, and prosody. Delivery Experience • Experience integrating designs with backend systems for fulfillment or service actions. • Ability to balance user needs with technical constraints and business goals. • Strong documentation skills for process documents, design specifications, and best‑practice guidelines. • Proven success collaborating across cross‑functional teams throughout the project lifecycle. Technical Job Description: • Design & Development: Build and maintain conversational AI solutions using DialogflowES/CX, including designing conversational flows, intents, entities, and fulfillment services. • Integration: Develop middleware, backend services, and APIs (often with Python) to integrate bots with enterprise systems and third-party applications. • Optimization: Improve bot performance by implementing NLP best practices, managing context, handling errors, and continuously tuning NLU (Natural Language Understanding). • Generative AI: Configure and manage generative AI components, such as Playbooks and Data Stores for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). • Collaboration: Work with UX designers and business teams to define user journeys and ensure the conversation design meets user needs. • Testing and analytics: Implement logging, monitoring, and analytics to track performance. Develop and execute automated testing strategies. Technical leadership: Potentially provide technical guidance, mentor junior developers, and perform code reviews. • Strong Knowledge of Google DialogFlow CX /Conversational Agent Builder • Knowledge of AI/chatbot development landscape, tools, and other frameworks • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like CCAI, Cloud Functions, and Pub/Sub. • Knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and RESTful services. • Understanding of NLP/NLU principles. • Familiarity with SDLC, Version control (GIT) and CI/CD Pipeline • Knowledge of conversational designs, flow, and automated speech recognition • Experience in algorithms, computer visions, knowledge management, and conversational AI • Working knowledge of frontend technologies – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and REST APIs • Fundamental knowledge and experience in BigQuery, MySQL, MongoDB, or other databases • Experience with Agile Methodologies • Experience working with programming languages such as Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, and AI languages Past Interview Feedback: "He is missing hands-on DFCX development experience, where he has no exposure to integrating with backend apps like CRM, ERP etc. Also he mentioned his exposure or knowledge of Playbooks in DFCX is theoretical and has not used in building in real use case. Importantly his exposure in building or working on CI/CD process is more of as a user rather than having technical knowledge of the CI/CD tools. Also he had no knowledge of integration with ccaas or any other IVR application which would be necessary from DFCX lead we are trying to place in ALTICE.” “Communication was very convoluted and wordy rather than answering directly to the questions being asked; which reads to me as him not being familiar enough with any of the technical or leadership topics that we have been grilling him on, certainly not enough to be in a position to drive/lead a project technically and guide a distributed, multi-vendor team like ours.” “He struggled answering some technical questions around the use of DFCX. Example: We asked him how did he take care of PII data in his bot and his response was that he has not done the same. Secondly, when drilled about how he transports the payload to human agent from DFCX - he was not able to give a proper response. He has no exposure to working on CI/CD tools & process. His exposure is more on the AWS/Azure tools.” Thanks & Regards Shivam Rawat Sr. Technical Recruiter (US Talent Acquisition) Phone: +1 (907) 615-4199 (Ext. 4119) Email: rawat@indus-grp.com • Indus Group Inc.
