Role description
Customer Insight Analyst London, day rate: £450 Inside IR35 This is an opportunity to join a flagship Customer Insight program with a leading telecoms provider, helping shape how millions of customers experience broadband and home products. The Company They are a major UK telecommunications business with a broad portfolio across broadband, mobile, and home services. The organisation is investing heavily in customer insight, marketing decisioning, and personalisation to deepen engagement with their customer base. You will join a high-profile team focused on optimising a sophisticated cross-channel marketing engine. This is a fast-paced, data-driven environment where insight directly informs strategic decisions at senior level. The Role and Deliverables • Analyse customer behaviour and engagement data to identify opportunities to optimise a Next Best Action marketing engine across channels. • Evaluate pricing strategies, offers, and content to understand what drives commercial performance and customer response. • Develop clear, hypothesis-driven analysis in areas of ambiguity, translating findings into actionable commercial recommendations and next steps. • Partner with marketing and commercial stakeholders to shape cross-sell and up-sell strategies and improve personalisation across the customer base. • Build and deliver concise, data-led stories in PowerPoint, presenting insights and recommendations to director-level stakeholders. • Provide hands-on analytical support using Python, SQL and Excel to generate robust, high-quality insights throughout the 3‑month contract. Your Skills & Experience • Strong experience as a customer insight or marketing analyst, ideally within telecoms or a similar consumer subscription environment. • Proven track record using Python and SQL for hands-on analysis, along with advanced Excel skills. • Experience working in marketing analytics, with exposure to pricing, offers, and cross-sell or up-sell optimisation. • Background in Next Best Action, consumer marketing decisioning, or personalisation, with an understanding of how to tailor messages and deals to different customer segments. • Comfortable working in ambiguity, using a hypothesis-driven approach and operating with a high level of autonomy to drive commercial recommendations. • Confident communicator with strong PowerPoint and executive communication skills, including presenting insights at director level. • Ability to tell compelling stories with data, clearly linking analytical findings to commercial impact. • Any experience with consulting-style stakeholder management, and any statistical or quantitative background, would be a strong advantage.
