Role description
Education See Months/Years of Experience Months/Years Of Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline and eight (8) or more years of experience in systems integration, IT infrastructure engineering, or testbed/environment design. Required Qualifications β€’ Must be a US Citizen β€’ Must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance at the TS/SCI Eligibility level β€’ Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems (Windows, Linux, AD, Exchange, DNS, databases, etc.) β€’ Experience designing and deploying mission-representative networks (e.g., LAN/WAN, VPN, tactical radios, firewalls, routers, switches) β€’ Proficiency with virtualization platforms (VMware, ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM) β€’ Ability to infer test requirements and translate them into actionable infrastructure plans β€’ Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences β€’ Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams Desired Qualifications β€’ Experience supporting DoD test events or mission rehearsals β€’ Familiarity with LVC (Live, Virtual, Constructive) environments or simulation integration β€’ Knowledge of GOTS/COTS systems and their use in operational mission scenarios β€’ Familiarity with RMF or system hardening (but not the primary focus of this role) β€’ Exposure to cyber range infrastructure, but with a focus on deployment rather than cyber TTPs β€’ Prior experience supporting NCR or other military range environments β€’ Experience integrating weapon systems or MIL-STD interfaces Duties β€’ Coordinating with the user(s) to manage objectives and the event's scope β€’ Performing as a member of the Event Engineering Team (EET) and responsible for defining event objectives and translating user requirements into tasks for the event team to execute β€’ Supporting medium-to-large system deployments, including planning, designing, and evaluating software options, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, configuring media, and deriving requirements β€’ Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting elements of system networking, including routing and switching, and supporting special communication methods such as VPN β€’ Performing independent analysis, evaluation, and integration solutions to complex technical problems to meet management and mission objectives β€’ Seeking optimum design within customer specifications, quality standards, schedule, and funding limitations β€’ Working with site users to deploy and integrate their solutions. Offering assistance to participants during initial integration stages or when integration fails. Assisting in documenting changes β€’ Assisting with analysis on projects or phases of projects to enhance the technical and economic development of the product β€’ Resolving a variety of technical problems leading to advanced engineering studies designed to increase efficiency or reduce costs β€’ Assisting with briefing senior management and customer personnel on technical matters, technical research studies, and applications and in developing technical presentations β€’ Configuring both internal systems and customer tools within mixed environments β€’ Monitor system performance and system resource utilization, ensure system availability and reliability, and chart trending and capacity planning β€’ Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to system infrastructure β€’ Assisting in selecting and implementing security tools, policies, and procedures β€’ Liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution in fielded environments β€’ Working inside classified and unclassified environments to accomplish government goals FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING Comments Compliance with health mandates as dictated by the contract may b required as a condition of employment.
