Data Analyst 3 Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Data Analyst for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be three months with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary: This role offers hands‐on exposure to SAP S/4HANA transformation, working across production and test environments while seeing how finance data flows end to end through core systems. You''ll build highly transferable skills by supporting UAT and partnering across Finance and Engineering during a major platform transition. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: • The team sits within Corporate Accounting and is responsible for supporting the companies general ledger close and consolidation process. This includes managing the close calendar, booking accounting entries such as foreign exchange and intercompany transactions, and maintaining data governance across the GL and SAP environment. • This role will contribute to supporting intercompany accounting activities, with a focus on managing defined processes rather than deep technical accounting expertise. Responsibilities include following established procedures, refreshing and maintaining Power BI reporting, and supporting close-related tasks. A significant portion of the role (approximately half) will be dedicated to supporting UAT testing related to the SAP S/4HANA implementation. • This role provides hands‐on support to the Corporate Accounting organization, with a primary focus on supporting the monthly accounting close rhythm — specifically intercompany accounting activities. Outside of the close window, the role will support the GL Maintenance team, which is responsible for general ledger maintenance, data governance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for accounting and finance systems that impact the close process. • A typical day for this role balances hands‐on accounting work during the close cycle with systems, data governance, and UAT support outside the close window. • During the monthly close window, the day is centered on supporting the accounting close rhythm. The individual reviews and validates intercompany transactions and balances, investigates and helps resolve intercompany differences, and partners with other accounting teams to address timing or posting issues. They assist with reconciliations, variance analysis, and documentation to ensure accurate and timely close deliverables. The work is deadline‐driven, detail‐oriented, and closely aligned to the close calendar. • Outside the close window, the day shifts more toward systems and enablement work. The individual supports the GL maintenance team by assisting with general ledger master data maintenance, data governance activities, and data quality reviews that impact financial reporting. They help identify and resolve issues related to chart of accounts changes, mappings, or other master data updates. • A significant portion of non‐close time is spent supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for accounting and finance tools. This includes executing test scripts, validating accounting results, comparing outcomes between source systems and downstream reports, documenting issues, and partnering with engineering or IT teams to triage defects. They may also support test readiness activities such as access validation, scenario setup, and maintaining testing documentation. • Across both close and non‐close periods, the role involves frequent collaboration with accounting partners, systems teams, and program stakeholders. The individual works through a mix of structured tasks and ad‐hoc problem solving, helping ensure accounting processes run smoothly and system changes are thoroughly tested before going live Qualifications: • Accounting Close Execution (5+ years) - Ability to validate accounting outcomes across systems, compare results, and assess financial impact • SAP Finance / Accounting Systems Proficiency (3–5+ years) - Hands‐on experience documenting test evidence, logging defects, and partnering with Finance and Engineering/IT teams through triage and fix validation • UAT Execution for Accounting & Finance Systems (2–4+ years) - Experience executing UAT test cases for accounting or finance systems • The ideal resume would contain strong accounting fundamentals with an interest in finance systems, testing, and process improvement, and is comfortable operating across both operational accounting and systems enablement work. Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or Finance. UAT testing experience, SAP (especially S/4HANA) exposure, and prior similar company history. • The ideal candidate has a hybrid accounting and systems background, with hands on experience supporting accounting close activities and participating in finance system testing or support. • Prior experience working alongside finance systems or IT teams, such as: • Supporting ERP changes (SAP / S/4HANA / Oracle / similar) • Participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for accounting or finance tools • Executing test cases and validating accounting results • Identifying, documenting, and triaging defects or data issues If this job is a match for your background, we would be honoured to receive your application!
