β’ Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support our NYS client in analyzing and extracting insights from the Medicaid Data warehouse (MDW); run queries on the claims and encounter data . This role requires hands-on experience working within a Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW) environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare data analytics, particularly claims and encounters, and will be expected to run complex SQL queries and navigate Medicaid-specific data structures.
Duties
β’ Query and analyze Medicaid claims and encounter data from the Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW).
β’ Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to extract meaningful data.
β’ Interpret data trends, anomalies, and key metrics to inform decision-making and operational improvements.
β’ Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to present data-driven insights.
β’ Create and maintain Tableau dashboards or similar visualization tools to display analytical findings.
β’ Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple data sources.
β’ Maintain clear documentation of all queries, processes, and analysis for transparency and reproducibility.
Mandatory Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field.
β’ 4+ years of NYS Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW) experience.
β’ 4+ years of experience analyzing healthcare claims and encounter data.
β’ Strong knowledge of Medicaid data, including common tables, relationships, and reporting metrics.
β’ Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize large, complex queries.
β’ Experience building dashboards with Tableau or similar BI tools.
β’ Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications:
β’ Experience working with NYS government agencies or healthcare systems.
β’ Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing best practices.
β’ Exposure to statistical tools or languages like Python or R is a plus.
