Contract until 31 March 2027 | East Midlands | Hybrid Working | Inside IR35
Rate: Negotiable Dependent on Experience
Data Careers is supporting a secure public sector organisation in the East Midlands in the search for an experienced Data Architect.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering enterprise-wide data architecture, helping the organisation maximise the value of its data assets while supporting intelligence, operational decision-making and strategic outcomes.
You'll play a key role in defining the future direction of a modern cloud-based data environment, working across technical and business teams to establish scalable, secure and sustainable data capabilities.
Security & Eligibility
Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must:
• Be UK-based.
• Have continuously resided in the UK for a minimum of five years.
• Be eligible to obtain NPPV3 and SC clearance.
• Existing police vetting, NPPV3 and/or SC clearance would be highly advantageous.
The Opportunity
You'll lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture, helping shape both current and future-state data capabilities.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, engineers, analysts and operational teams, you will establish the data structures, governance frameworks and cloud architectures required to support a data-driven organisation.
Hybrid working is available, with attendance in Lincolnshire typically expected around one day per week, although flexibility is available depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and deliver enterprise data architecture strategy.
• Design and implement scalable cloud-based data architectures.
• Lead data modelling, integration and governance initiatives.
• Establish architecture standards and best practice.
• Support Microsoft Fabric adoption and development.
• Design data flows, storage models and integration frameworks.
• Promote data quality, governance and security standards.
• Engage with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Support major transformation, migration and modernisation programmes.
Essential Experience
• Enterprise Data Architecture.
• Microsoft Fabric.
• End-to-end architecture design and implementation.
• Data modelling and data governance.
• Modern cloud data platforms and services.
• Data integration and architecture frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
• Experience translating complex requirements into practical data solutions.
Highly Desirable Experience
• Medallion Architecture.
• Azure cloud data services.
• Public sector or policing experience.
• Data architecture certifications.
• Experience leading technical teams and transformation programmes.
