Position Title:Β Data Engineer
Duration: 1.5 years
Location: Wilmington, DE
Work Type: Hybrid (Monday, tues, wed, and thurs work from the office and 1 day work from home)
Job Responsibilities:
β’ The position reports to the Senior Manager, PPNR Model Development team within the Treasury and Financial Modelling group.
β’ This role will analyze, manipulate, and synthesize data from various sources and transform into the data that are meaningful and insightful for loan balance forecast for stress testing purposes in compliance with the standards, policies, and procedures.
β’ Support the acquisition and ingestion of data, and data management (including documentation) in compliance with enterprise data standards, policies, and guidelines, across platforms and systems to support model development
β’ Acquire and maintain expert knowledge of data, including knowledge provided through data profiling, data quality reporting, and via the production of metadata
β’ Articulate complex, large-scale, and high-impact technical design and development details to non-technical business partners
β’ Elicit, analyze, and understand business and data requirements to develop complete business solutions, including data models (entity relationship diagrams, dimensional data models), ETL and business rules, data life-cycle management, governance, lineage, and metadata
β’ Develop and maintain complex data models using industry-standard modeling tools
β’ Develop and maintain complex ETL jobs and frameworks using the Bank's standard tools
β’ Provide support to the development and testing teams to resolve data issues, including escalation support on complex issues
β’ Support partners and stakeholders in interpreting and analyzing data
β’ Building automated tools and data extraction for development and production.
β’ The position must work effectively with business partners, including data providers, platform teams, IT, businesses, Treasury, Finance, and the Model Validation and Management Team, to ensure the soundness and accuracy of the model development, implementation, and execution.
Must Have:
β’ Strong quantitative skills with a Graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Computer Science/Actuarial Science/Finance/Engineering.
β’ 5+ years of working experience in advanced data analytics / predictive modelling
β’ Solid experience and knowledge in financial services/banking (i.e., commercial and retail lending), stress testing (CCAR, DFAST), and model governance.
β’ Solid "hands-on " experience and proficiency in programming languages such as SAS, Python, SQL, Excel VB
β’ Experience working with in Linux/Unix operating systems, Microsoft Azure platform for analytics
β’ Solid experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, VBA, Word, PowerPoint)
Nice To Have
β’ Experience with statistical methods and libraries (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R)
β’ presentation skills
β’ Proven ability to work in teams and to build effective working relationships, as well as the ability to work independently
β’ Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
β’ Experience with time series data is an asset
