Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with ThoughtSpot with strong expertise in Starburst (Trino/Presto) to design, develop, and optimize federated data solutions for enterprise analytics. The ideal candidate will integrate diverse data sources, build interactive ThoughtSpot dashboards, and ensure high-performance, scalable, and governed analytics environments.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop, maintain, and optimize federated data queries using Starburst (Trino/Presto).
β’ Build, configure, and maintain ThoughtSpot Liveboards, worksheets, and dashboards to deliver business insights.
β’ Integrate multiple data sources (Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift, S3, etc.) through Starburst to provide a unified analytics layer.
β’ Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and architects to design scalable data pipelines and semantic models.
β’ Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across all analytics platforms.
β’ Troubleshoot query performance, data integration, and system optimization issues.
β’ Document data models, integration workflows, and dashboard development processes.
β’ Train and support business users in leveraging ThoughtSpot for self-service analytics.
Required Skills & Experience:
β’ 5+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or data engineering roles.
β’ Hands-on expertise with ThoughtSpot development (Liveboards, worksheets, formulas, joins).
β’ Strong experience in Starburst / Trino / Presto for federated query development.
β’ Proven ability to integrate heterogeneous data sources (Snowflake, Oracle, Redshift, S3, etc.).
β’ Solid understanding of SQL, data modeling, and query optimization.
β’ Experience with data governance and metadata management principles.
β’ Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience in cloud data ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
β’ Familiarity with Python or ETL tools for data integration automation.
β’ Prior experience in self-service analytics enablement and user training.
