Data & Analytics Engineer/Data Migration Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data & Analytics Engineer with deep expertise in end-to-end data migrations, business analysis, and data transformation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully executing large-scale, complex data migrations using Microsoft Data Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, and RESTful APIs. This role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to translate business use cases into technical specifications, and hands-on experience in transforming data to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead and execute full-cycle data migration projects from legacy systems to modern platforms.
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable data specifications.
β’ Analyze source and target data models to design effective mapping and transformation strategies.
β’ Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft technologies (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, etc.).
β’ Ensure data quality, integrity, and reconciliation throughout the migration lifecycle.
β’ Develop and maintain documentation for data flows, mappings, and business rules.
β’ Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, data architects, and developers.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues, ensuring timely delivery of migration milestones.
β’ Apply best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on data migrations.
β’ Strong business analysis skills with the ability to understand and document business use cases.
β’ Hands-on experience with Microsoft Data Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, and API integrations.
β’ Proficiency in SQL and data transformation techniques.
β’ Experience with data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation.
β’ Excellent communication and documentation skills.
β’ Proven ability to manage multiple migration projects in agile environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Databricks.
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
β’ Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
