Data Scientist – Browser Analytics

About the Team
This role is part of a data science team within a leading browser organization. The team focuses on analyzing business and user engagement metrics, helping the organization understand trends in customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. You’ll work closely with cross-functional groups including product, engineering, business, and finance teams to drive insights that inform growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to weekly business metric reporting by analyzing data movements, building and maintaining dashboards, and effectively communicating results.
• Process and analyze large datasets, usage funnels, and long-term trends using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Conduct exploratory analyses and hypothesis-driven modeling to identify opportunities, pain points, and customer journey patterns.
• Provide actionable recommendations to leadership to improve customer satisfaction, acquisition, engagement, and retention.
• Collaborate with data scientists, developers, product managers, and business partners across functions to support business growth.
Typical Day Breakdown
• 50% – Data analysis of internal metrics and user behavior using various tools and methods.
• 40% – Data science work including modeling, hypothesis testing, and extracting insights with scripting languages and big data infrastructure.
• 10% – Business intelligence and reporting using Power BI, Excel, and other tools.

Candidate Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, or related field.
• Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or Business Insights (candidates with more experience may also be considered).
• Strong track record of working with data, building reports/dashboards, and delivering actionable insights.
Required Skills
1. Scripting & Data Analysis – 2–4 years of experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar.
1. Big Data Platforms – 2–4 years of experience with Databricks, Cosmos, Azure, or equivalent.
1. Data Manipulation & Reporting – 2–4 years of experience in analytics, dashboards, and reporting (Power BI, Excel, or similar).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and troubleshoot complex issues.
