Job Title: Senior Data Scientist (Level 3) Location: Atlanta, GA (onsite) Longterm Contract Overview: Our Utility/Gas client is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support the Enterprise Decision Support & Data Governance organization. This role will drive strategic data science initiatives by applying advanced analytics and machine learning to solve complex business challenges and deliver actionable insights across the organization. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze large and complex datasets using statistical and machine learning techniques. • Build and deploy predictive models using algorithms such as neural networks, ensemble methods, and deep learning. • Create compelling and easy-to-understand data visualizations with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries. • Lead feature engineering to improve model accuracy and business relevance. • Conduct rigorous hypothesis testing and statistical validation for business strategies. • Develop and optimize machine learning algorithms for real-world applications. • Collaborate with data engineering and IT to access and integrate data from warehouses and data lakes. • Oversee model deployment to support real-time business decision-making. • Design and evaluate A/B tests and other experimentation frameworks. • Promote ethical data usage and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. • Work cross-functionally with engineers, analysts, domain experts, and executives to align data science work with strategic goals. • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to developing a data-driven culture. • Stay current on emerging data science tools, frameworks, and best practices. Qualifications: • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. • 10–15 years of professional experience in data science roles. • Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or Julia. • Strong command of SQL and experience working with relational and non-relational databases. • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling. • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). • Proficiency in visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and Python libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn). • Proven track record of deploying models in production environments. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities. • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
