Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Scientist Lead for an onsite position with a Major Financial Institution located in Pittsburgh, PA; Strongsville, OH; Birmingham, AL; Farmers Branch, TX; or Phoenix, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract to hire opportunity. This role directs and consults on analytical projects that leverage vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights. The candidate will join a team focused on mitigating risk by performing ongoing analysis of fraud trends and emerging schemes, working to proactively identify risk patterns and enhance advanced pattern detection solutions. Responsibilities: • Leverage business and product expertise to rigorously analyze large datasets, improve risk-adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions • Perform ongoing analysis of fraud trends and emerging schemes through daily monitoring, trend reviews, and deep dives to proactively identify risk patterns • Design and implement fraud monitoring for new products and capabilities, ensuring timely coverage, risk assessments, and alignment with enterprise fraud frameworks • Optimize and streamline existing fraud monitoring processes by improving alert logic, reducing noise, and enhancing efficiency through automation and standardization • Partner with cross-functional domains to develop and enhance advanced pattern detection solutions and countermeasures • Synthesize analytical results and develop, recommend, and implement business strategies that improve decisions and assist in managing risk • Apply predictive models, third party data, and other tools to develop and execute appropriate segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies • Design and enhance standard reporting suites for regular product and portfolio reviews Requirements: • Bachelor's degree • 8+ years of relevant experience in data science • Proficiency with SQL, Python or R • Strong analytic mindset and data skills • Background in math, statistics, and quantitative analysis • Experience with Tableau or Power BI Desired skills: • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Experience with model development • Prior banking experience and/or prior anti-fraud experience, especially with digital transaction products (ACH, Wire Transfer, etc) • Cross-functional collaboration skills Pay range: $61.90 - $69.90 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
