Data Scientist

Seeking a Data Scientist in Imaging to develop and lead applied computer vision solutions. This role combines hands‑on model development with project leadership and clear communication to non‑technical stakeholders, supporting data‑driven decisions and scalable deployment of imaging analytics. Location: Hybrid 3 days onsite in Des Moines, IA (need to be able to interview onsite) Rate: 55-65/hr W2 depending on experience level. Key Responsibilities • Build and productionize deep learning CV models (detection, segmentation, classification) for microscopy and macroscopic imaging • Lead Computer Vision projects end‑to‑end, setting technical direction and delivery priorities • Translate model results and limitations to non‑technical stakeholders • Develop production‑ready Python pipelines integrated with Git/GitLab and experiment tracking • Quantify, document, and present model performance • Collaborate across biology, breeding, and data science teams Required Skills • 4–6 years of hands‑on computer vision experience in Python (PyTorch/TensorFlow) • Computer Vision fundamentals and model production experience (CI/CD basics, MLflow, reproducibility) • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences • Project and technical leadership experience, with capacity to backfill leadership needs If you are interested in this opening, then please click APPLY NOW.
