About the Role
Our client is seeking a Data Scientist for a 9-month fixed term contract to support data-driven decision-making across key business areas, including customer affordability, electric vehicle (EV) adoption, and potential scheme misuse. The successful candidate will join a collaborative Data Science and Analytics team, with a primary focus on predictive modelling and actionable insights to inform strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop machine learning models to understand and predict customer behaviour related to EV adoption, affordability, and scheme misuse.
β’ Conduct statistical analysis (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing) to derive customer insights from structured data.
β’ Build and maintain insightful dashboards to support decision-making.
β’ Analyse unstructured customer research data using NLP techniques such as sentiment analysis and topic modelling.
β’ Present methodologies and assumptions to technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment.
β’ Support ad hoc analytical requests from across the organisation.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
β’ Degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
β’ Proficient in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in machine learning and data manipulation.
β’ Experience solving business problems using structured and unstructured data.
β’ Strong understanding of cloud-based data environments (e.g., Snowflake, Sagemaker).
β’ Proven analytical problem-solving capabilities.
β’ Effective communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
Desirable:
β’ Demonstrated examples of delivering business impact through data science solutions.
Team Collaboration
The role involves working closely with data scientists and analysts within the Customer Insights and Analytics team, and in partnership with teams across insurance, commercial operations, customer services, and repairs.
