Role description
Position Overview
We are seeking Data Scientists to join the team at Ameren Headquarters in downtown St. Louis. The ideal candidates will have strong hands-on experience in data science, advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI.
The Data Scientist will work with large and complex datasets, including structured and unstructured data, to identify trends, develop predictive models, solve complex business problems, and create actionable insights. This role will partner closely with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data science and AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze large, complex, and diverse datasets to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and actionable business insights.
• Apply advanced statistical, mathematical, and analytical techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and develop key datasets for statistical and machine learning analysis.
• Design, develop, and implement machine learning and AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.
• Build predictive and statistical models to support business decision-making.
• Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources to create reliable analytical datasets.
• Develop methods and processes for collecting, transforming, cleaning, and analyzing complex datasets.
• Design approaches for storing, consuming, integrating, and managing unstructured data.
• Investigate relationships and correlations across disparate datasets and identify the underlying factors driving business outcomes.
• Translate complex business requirements into practical data science, machine learning, and AI solutions.
• Work closely with Data Engineers to review data pipelines, identify data-quality issues, and recommend optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and other technical teams to develop high-quality analytical datasets and solutions.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, data generators, analytical datasets, and other end-user data resources as required.
• Communicate analytical findings, model results, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on data transformation and preparation techniques required for statistical and machine learning analysis.
• Ensure data science solutions are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
Required Qualifications
• Strong professional experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and modeling.
• Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets.
• Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and statistical modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning / AI solutions.
• Experience with Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA).
• Experience developing predictive models and interpreting model results.
• Experience working with large, complex, and diverse datasets.
• Experience cleaning, transforming, integrating, and preparing data for analysis.
• Ability to work with both structured and unstructured data.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
