Job Description Data Specialist - Master and Reference Data Management Start: ASAP Duration: 6 months + Location: Wokingham (3 days in the office per week) Rate: inside IR35, up to £475 p/day We are seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist with proven expertise in master and reference data management to support data governance and provenance activities. This role requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively across both business and technical teams. Key Responsibilities • Lead the governance of master and reference data, ensuring accountability, transparency, and stewardship across the organisation. • Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards to maintain data consistency across business units. • Oversee change management processes for master and reference data to minimise disruption and align with business objectives. • Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions and clearly communicate data concepts and requirements. • Provide training and guidance on master and reference data best practices. Essential • 5+ years of hands-on experience in master and reference data management or governance. • Solid understanding of data governance frameworks and practices. • Strong stakeholder management and engagement capabilities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Desirable • Relevant certifications (e.g. DAMA CDMP). • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. • Experience with data management tools and technologies. • Understanding of data lineage concepts.
