You will play a vital role in ensuring reporting continuity, data migration quality, and analytics transformation—all while aligning with national NHS standards.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of data-driven decision-making in frontline healthcare.
Your Mission
You will work closely with the Data & Analytics (D&A) Programme Manager to lead, advise, and deliver across several critical workstreams, including:
• Data Migration & Archiving: Ensuring successful migration from legacy systems, resolving data errors, and preparing cutover processes.
• Data Warehouse (Data Factory) Development: Designing and delivering a normalised, NHS-compliant data warehouse to support statutory and operational reporting.
• BI & Reporting Strategy: Overseeing business intelligence readiness, NHS-standard reporting outputs, and Go Live reporting frameworks.
• System Integration & Testing: Supporting integration with MEDITECH and validation through design, build, and test cycles.
• Knowledge Transfer & Handover: Training internal teams and delivering clear transition plans for Business-as-Usual (BAU).
Key Responsibilities
• Lead NHS BI and reporting readiness work across three NHS Trusts.
• Collaborate with suppliers and clinical leads to define, build and test EPR-linked reports.
• Manage and assure data migration including dry runs, rehearsals, and cutovers.
• Align reporting outputs with NHS England standards, including SUS/CDS, SLAM, and statutory reports.
• Develop and deliver a robust and scalable Data Factory and analytics environment.
• Oversee the design, documentation, testing, and release of all data solutions.
• Support the procurement and implementation of a Clinical Data Repository (CDR).
• Participate in Design-Build-Test (DBT) workshops, data governance reviews, and system design meetings.
• Provide best practice guidance and SME-level recommendations for post-Go Live optimisation.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Significant experience in NHS Data & Analytics, ideally across multiple Trusts or ICBs.
• Proven track record in EPR data migration and reporting, particularly with MEDITECH or similar systems.
• Strong knowledge of NHS statutory, operational, and commissioning datasets (e.g. SUS, CDS).
• Expertise in data warehouse architecture, development and optimisation.
• Experience with NHS BI tooling and reporting frameworks.
• Familiarity with governance, metadata, lineage, and compliance in NHS data standards.
• Hands-on experience working with cutover, Go Live and testing cycles.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across technical, clinical, and operational teams.
• Ability to produce clear documentation and training materials for internal handover.
Desirable Qualifications / Competencies
• Experience with MEDITECH EPR, SQL Server, Power BI, or NHS Data Factory models.
• NHS programme or project leadership experience.
• Understanding of data governance in clinical environments.
• Relevant certifications in data architecture, NHS informatics, or BI technologies.
Project Outcome Objectives
• A fully operational and tested NHS-aligned Data Warehouse.
• Complete delivery of Go Live Reports and assurance of reporting continuity.
• Documented handover to internal D&A/BI teams, with training and support plans.
• Contribution to the long-term D&A vision through future-proofed solutions.
Contract Details & Exit Plan
This is a delivery-focused interim assignment with responsibility for the stabilisation, optimisation and formal handover of the solution to internal NHS teams. Your engagement will include final recommendations and BAU transition support.
