• Migrate legacy ETL workflows to modern tools like Fivetran (or Airbyte) and dbt.
• Optimise data models in Amazon Redshift for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Replace legacy orchestration scripts with Python or Bash for enhanced automation.
• Enforce best practices for data quality, lineage, and documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with analysts, engineers, and key stakeholders to deliver impactful data solutions.
• Implement CI/CD for dbt transformations and establish robust version control workflows.
• Support advanced techniques such as incremental loads, partitioning, and snapshotting.
• Contribute to production rollouts and empower internal teams through knowledge transfer and training.
What's in it for you?
• Day Rate : £500
• Remote-first culture - work from anywhere in the UK
Skills and Experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing modern data warehouses (ideally in Redshift)
• Advanced SQL skills and strong understanding of data modelling (star/snowflake schemas)
• Deep expertise in dbt - including documentation, testing, and CI/CD
• Proficiency with Python or Bash for automation and orchestration
• Familiarity with pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and quality assurance practices
• Experience working in cloud-native environments (preferably AWS)
• Comfortable using Git-based workflows for version control
