Position: Data Warehouse Developer II
Location: Wisconsin (Residents Only)
Work Model: Remote / Hybrid / Onsite (Candidate Choice)
Duration: Through 06/30/2026 (with possible extension)
Rate: Up to $40/hr (C2C)
Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Position Overview
The State of Wisconsin is seeking a Data Warehouse Developer II to support enterprise data warehousing and reporting initiatives. This role requires a strong foundation in SQL, Power BI, and data warehousing within a Microsoft Fabric environment.
The contractor will work within an Agile/Scrum team, exercising moderate independence while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries
• Design and build Power BI reports in a Microsoft Fabric environment
• Perform data modeling, DAX development, and data visualization
• Utilize source control for development processes
• Support data preparation and data warehousing projects
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Follow best practices for performance, usability, and accessibility where applicable
Required Technical Skills
• 4–5+ years of expert-level SQL development
• 4–5+ years of experience building Power BI reports in a Microsoft Fabric environment, including data modeling, DAX, visualization, and source control
• 4–5+ years of experience in data warehousing and data preparation
• 2–3+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with K–12 education data
• Experience with Microsoft BI stack including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
