Role description
Knowledge Services is seeking a remote Data Warehouse Developer for a contract through the end of June 2026 (potential for extension) with the State of Maine Office of Technology.
β’ Applicants MUST have prior experience within state, federal, or local government.
β’ We are unable to consider any candidates requiring C2C or sponsorship for a work visa.
Data Warehouse Developer Responsibilities:
β’ Assist in meeting the timeline of the existing projects, while supporting agency users with the current production environments. Resource will provide continued support after projects go-live.
β’ Prepares detailed design specifications for highly complex and large-scale systems to plan and facilitate system development and programming.
β’ Maintains assigned systems, responding to and resolving system problems to ensure systems are continuously available and function properly.
β’ Develop systems employing higher level languages such as 3 GL's, 4 GL's, enterprise class application development tools, system utilities, and project management tools to prepare systems for implementation.
β’ Diagnoses and isolates complex application software problems; formulates and implements effective solutions considering system capacity, limitations, time requirements, and desired results to resolve system problems and prevent reoccurrence.
β’ Design and develop subroutines in support of system development efforts to achieve maximum productivity.
β’ Perform difficult, complex, and specialized programming assignments to ensure users and business needs are met.
β’ The ability to switch between multiple priorities while maintaining momentum on current work.
β’ Customer focused approach when working with other teams and business contacts.
Data Warehouse Developer Required Skills:
β’ 5+ years of experience with the application of Data Warehouse design and development principles.
β’ Experience within an Oracle Cloud environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI).
β’ Must have hands on experience with PL/SQL
β’ Must be able to review & convert Coding
β’ Data/Business analysis skills needed to gather business requirements and create technical documents.
β’ Familiar with a shared team development environment, including the ability to perform tasks for all aspects of the SDLC.
β’ Understanding Kimball method and how it is applied.
β’ Data Warehouse Structure and Application / Star Schema experience.
β’ Software testing experience.
Preferred:
β’ Experience working with government or public sector IT systems preferred
