Role description
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Database Sr. Engineer (Data Modeler) with our commercial real estate client in Richardson, TX. This is a 3-month contract with a potential for extension.Β This is a hybrid position - 3 days a week in office.
Pay: $61.67 - $66.67/hr;Β W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Schedule:Β M-F 8am - 5pm
Description:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Data Modeler to lead the design and development of advanced, enterprise-level data models. In this role, you will create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational workflows. You will collaborate across teams to ensure our data architecture aligns with business needs and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both structured and unstructured data.
β’ Work closely with business stakeholders to collect requirements and translate them into scalable data structures.
β’ Develop and manage data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and ER diagrams using tools such as ERwin and SQL Workbench.
β’ Demonstrate hands-on experience in developing scalable data models for structured and unstructured data.
β’ Ensure modeling consistency across transactional and analytical systems.
β’ Partner with data governance teams to apply masking policies, validate data quality, and ensure regulatory compliance.
β’ mplement data validation and reconciliation processes to maintain data accuracy through ingestion pipelines and reporting layers.
β’ Collaborate with engineering teams on integrating models into ETL/ELT pipelines with tools such as Apache Airflow, IICS, and Snowflake.
β’ Support migration projects by validating legacy models and transforming them for cloud-based platforms.
β’ Contribute to model versioning, traceability, and auditing practices to ensure reproducibility and accountability.
β’ Demonstrated ability to work in a distributed team environment, coordinating with stakeholders and team members located in different regions and time zones to ensure seamless communication and project alignment
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in data modeling and database design.
β’ Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, SQL Workbench, and DBT.
β’ Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional modeling techniques.
β’ Experience with metadata management and data governance frameworks.
β’ Excellent communication and analytical skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Snowflake.
β’ Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
β’ Knowledge of machine learning workflows and model deployment.
β’ Experience with BI platforms and data visualization tools.
β’ Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
