Decision Scientist

Decision Scientist (Contract | Remote | Healthcare) Our client is seeking a Decision Scientist to join their Utilization Management (UM) Overturns team on a contract through the end of the year. This initiative focuses on optimizing the end-to-end admission and approval process within utilization management. When patients require admission, multiple insurance approvals are often necessary. Some steps can be automated, while others need human review. The product is already in place — now, our client is looking for a skilled professional to enhance workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure approvals happen quickly, accurately, and seamlessly. Key Responsibilities • Perform data analysis to uncover trends and actionable insights • Write and optimize SQL queries (~60% of the role) and leverage Python (~40%) for data processing and automation • Create compelling data visualizations using tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, or similar platforms • Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to tell a clear story through data • Utilize cloud technologies (GCP preferred) to drive process improvements Ideal Candidate Profile • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python • Background in healthcare data and utilization management • Experience with data visualization tools (Spotfire, Tableau, or similar) • Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP) • Excellent communication and storytelling skills Location: Remote Contract Duration: Through end of year
