Role description
DevOps / Platform Engineer β Hospitality | Opera | Kubernetes | Growth Focused
Location: Hybrid / Remote (UK-based preferred)
Start Date: ASAP
Sector: Hospitality / Tech-Enabled Operations
Overview:
Our client is a leading name in the hospitality sector, having recently completed a full migration to Opera for inventory management and a modernised microservices-based, containerised infrastructure (Kubernetes).
The next challenge? Unlocking the true potential of their tech stack to drive operational efficiency and revenue growth.
Weβre looking for a DevOps / Platform Engineer to join immediately and help the business take full advantage of its new architecture, focusing on platform performance, scalability, and how to get more commercial impact from Opera and inventory data.
What Youβll Be Doing:
β’ Operate and optimise the newly migrated Kubernetes containerised platform
β’ Integrate and align the Opera inventory management system with the wider platform and microservices
β’ Identify how tech (Opera + Kubernetes) can support better decision-making, tighter operations, and revenue growth
β’ Improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, and infrastructure performance
β’ Work with product, data, and operations teams to create scalable solutions that add measurable value
β’ Contribute to the long-term tech strategy around infrastructure and platform innovation
You Should Have:
β’ Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
β’ Solid understanding of microservice architecture in production environments
β’ Previous work with or around Opera PMS or hospitality inventory systems (ideal but not essential)
β’ Experience with CI/CD tooling, automation, and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Helm)
β’ Familiarity with observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
β’ A business-aware mindset, you care about how your engineering decisions drive commercial outcomes
β’ Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
