β’ Looking for a highly motivated and experienced senior software engineer to support the development of services hosted on public cloud platforms. You will leverage your expertise in software development, along with your DevOps proficiency across AWS and GCP, to design and implement resilient Front End clients, Back End services, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native solutions. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact systems within a secure, high-availability environment at one of the world's leading financial institutions.
Key Accountabilities
Responsibilities will include:
β’ Design, develop, and maintain highly available, secure, and performant Back End REST API services along with Front End clients using Python, GoLang, Docker, and cloud-native services.
β’ Implement and manage database schema changes using Liquibase, ensuring alignment with compliance and audit standards.
β’ Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps and security teams, with a focus on traceability and regulatory controls.
β’ Manage, monitor, and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, ensuring resilience, cost-efficiency, and data security.
β’ Collaborate closely with infrastructure, architecture, and cybersecurity teams to meet internal risk, compliance, and governance requirements.
β’ Support live systems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions for incidents and performance bottlenecks.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience.
β’ Comes from a software engineering background with infrastructure experience.
β’ 5+ years of development experience with a strong focus on large-scale, distributed systems.
β’ Proficient in Python and GoLang.
β’ Experience with Liquibase or similar tools for database change management and version control.
β’ Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP, including cloud-native services, networking, IAM, and cost optimization. Experience with other cloud providers is desirable.
β’ Proven experience with DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (eg, Terraform), CI/CD tools (eg, Jenkins, GitLab CI), and containerization.
β’ Strong understanding of security principles in cloud and enterprise systems.
β’ Familiarity with audit and compliance considerations in regulated industries, particularly finance or banking.
β’ Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.
β’ A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, using appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success.
Essential Skills
β’ Demonstrable experience of:
β’ Public Cloud.
β’ Infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of services, including compute, storage, and networking.
β’ Linux.
β’ Relational and NoSQL databases.
β’ Integration services such as messaging and streams.
β’ Building RESTful API Services.
β’ Containerization, Kubernetes, serverless functions.
β’ Microservices and distributed tracing.
β’ Enterprise logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks (eg, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
β’ Automation Scripting (using Scripting languages such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
β’ Experience working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and continuous testing tools.
β’ Experience working within an Agile environment.
β’ Programming experience in the following languages: Python, Java, and GoLang.
β’ Ability to quickly acquire new skills and tools.
β’ Good non-functional testing experience
Desirable Skills
β’ Experience working in financial services or other regulated environments.
β’ AWS/GCP certifications (eg, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Engineer).
