Direct Client Requirement Data Modeler Dauphin County, PA

Role: Data Modeler Location: Dauphin County, PA (Remote, but candidate must reside in PA) Duration: 10 months (extensions possible) Objectives of Engagement • Serve as a Data Modeler for the DOH and EDW data warehouse modernization project. • Support analysis and reporting needs, and design/build the new EDW in Azure (Databricks, Delta Lake, Synapse). • Modernize DOH operations and create centralized data models for public health initiatives. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement logical and physical data models. • Manage metadata, data dictionaries, and technical documentation. • Analyze and translate business requirements into optimized data models and database solutions. • Perform data profiling, analysis, and validation. • Support DOH projects (COVID-19 response, PA NEDSS NextGen, Reporting Hub, etc.). • Work with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures, ELT processes. • Collaborate with EDW teams, stakeholders, and project managers. • Conduct knowledge transfer, training, and documentation. Requirements • Required 5 Years Experience with logical and physical data modeling, including use of tools like ErWin, or similar. • Required 5 Years Experience managing metadata, data dictionaries and technical documentation • Required 5 Years Strong proficiency with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures, ELT processes, scripts, and complex queries • Required 5 Years Working knowledge of Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Synapse and Python • Required 5 Years Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile / Scrum development methods • Required 5 Years Auditing databases to maintain quality and creating systems to keep data secure • Nice to have Experience working in the public health or healthcare industry with various health data sets • 4-year college degree in computer science or related field with advanced study preferred — Nice to have Thanks..
