Role description
About the Opportunity
Are you a strategic, data-driven pricing leader ready to build something from the ground up? We are a major player in the financial technology space seeking a visionary leader to establish and own our entire pricing and promotions strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to create a critical business function from scratch. You will be the central, unifying force behind our list pricing, discounting, and promotional efforts, ensuring every decision is proactive, timely, and grounded in data. In this highly visible role, you will partner directly with executive leaders across Product, Marketing, and Finance to design and implement strategies that drive growth and customer loyalty.
This is initially a contract position (lasting from August/September through the end of tax season in April) with a strong potential to convert to a full-time role for a successful candidate.
What You'll Do
Lead the Strategy: Own and lead the end-to-end pricing strategy across all products and services, working closely with Product, Finance, and Go-to-Market teams.
Build the Framework: Create a centralized and well-organized process for promotional pricingโdefining when to run promos, which customers to target, how much to discount, and how to measure success.
Drive Growth: Explore, test, and implement new and innovative pricing models that directly contribute to our growth objectives.
Be the Expert: Serve as the central decision-maker and advisor for in-season execution, using real-time data to react quickly to performance trends and competitor moves.
Collaborate & Align: Lead a cross-functional process to ensure seamless execution of pricing changes across all systems and platforms.
Communicate with Impact: Clearly and consistently articulate the "why" behind pricing decisions to executives, sales teams, and other key stakeholders.
Manage the Tools: Oversee the tools and systems for pricing, ensuring they are agile enough to respond to market dynamics.
How You'll Be Measured
Success in this role will be defined by your ability to:
Build a commercially sound, data-driven pricing function that drives both top- and bottom-line growth.
Develop high-impact pricing and promotional strategies that align with customer needs and business objectives.
Turn pricing into a repeatable, reliable growth lever by bringing visibility, consistency, and a clear ROI to all pricing actions.
Improve cross-functional alignment and execution around pricing goals.
What You'll Bring
Experience: 8+ years of experience in pricing, revenue management, or commercial strategy roles. Experience in tech, SaaS, FinTech, or other complex multi-offering businesses is strongly preferred.
Expertise: Deep understanding of pricing analytics, price elasticity, customer segmentation, and revenue optimization levers.
Leadership: Proven ability to develop and execute strategic roadmaps in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and lead through influence.
Collaboration: Strong cross-functional experience working effectively with Product, Finance, Sales, and Data teams.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Experience with pricing tools, data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and SQL or similar analytical toolsets is a significant plus.
Communication: Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Education: A Bachelorโs degree is required.
Please Note: This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere within the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
