We are partnering with a global FMCG brand who are searching for an experienced Econometrician / Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) Specialist to join their London-based team. This is a hybrid role offering long-term growth potential and the opportunity to work on a major MMM initiative spanning multiple markets and business units.
As an Econometrician, you will lead key modelling and data activities that drive strategic marketing decisionsβoptimizing media budgets, forecasting business performance, and supporting commercial objectives through rigorous analytical frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead the full econometric modelling lifecycle: data extraction, transformation, model building, validation, and business interpretation.
β’ Build and refine Marketing Mix Models (MMM) with robust statistical foundations and clear KPI linkages.
β’ Generate actionable outputs such as ROI analyses, response curves, and optimization tools.
β’ Perform scenario simulations for budget allocation, marketing strategy, and planning.
β’ Conduct model diagnostics, ensure methodological robustness, and continuously improve model accuracy.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Demonstrable experience in Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) and econometrics, ideally within FMCG or related sectors.
β’ Strong command of Python and pandas; working knowledge of R is also a plus.
β’ Proficient in statistical modelling and ML techniques, including regression, Bayesian inference, and probabilistic programming.
β’ Experience with PyMC, MCMC methods, and scenario-based optimization.
β’ Strong SQL (or Spark) skills for large-scale data extraction and preparation.
β’ Solid foundation in statistical theory and applied mathematics.
β’ Experience working in cloud-based environments (preferably Azure).
β’ Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Econometrics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
Preferred Attributes
β’ Deep technical expertise in simulation, optimization modelling, and decision science.
β’ Proven ability to translate complex analytical outputs into clear, commercially relevant insights.
β’ Comfortable collaborating across marketing, finance, and analytics teams.
