EDI Market & Competitive Strategy Analyst [$80-$130/hr]
Experienced EDI Market & Competitive Strategy Analyst to evaluate incumbents, emerging startups, and AI-native entrants in the EDI ecosystem
Role Responsibilities
β’ Conduct structured analysis of the EDI and fulfillment solutions market, including major incumbents and emerging players
β’ Identify and compare unique product capabilities, vertical specialization, integration ecosystems, and value propositions
β’ Assess competitive moats, including:
β’ Network effects
β’ Switching costs
β’ Regulatory/compliance barriers
β’ Embedded integrations with ERP/WMS/TMS systems
β’ Long-term enterprise contracts
β’ Analyze the extent to which the current EDI landscape is defensible against AI-native disruption
β’ Evaluate the structural advantages of legacy providers vs. AI-first startups
β’ Develop forward-looking scenarios:
β’ If AI becomes transformative in EDI, how incumbents could defend themselves
β’ Which existing players are best positioned to adapt or dominate
β’ Produce structured reports and executive-ready insights
Good Candidature
β’ 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
β’ Enterprise SaaS market analysis
β’ Supply chain / logistics technology
β’ EDI platforms or B2B integration software
β’ Strategy consulting (tech-focused)
β’ Private equity / venture capital diligence in enterprise software
β’ Strong understanding of:
β’ EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, etc.)
β’ ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
β’ Fulfillment and supply chain workflows
β’ Experience analyzing competitive moats and defensibility in enterprise software markets
